Real Presenter: User Guide

HRE Online

This page serves as a guide for HRE Faculty and HRE Online staff when operating the
Real Presenter software.

1. Open Real Presenter

 

2. Click 'Narrate a PowerPoint Presentation'

 

3. Select a PowerPoint Presentation which you want to do recording

 

4. Select 'Record for Viewing Anytime', Hit 'Next'

5. Fill in Author, Copyright, Email, Title

(Title Ex: s1m2c2hre450su02)

Note: The Title must follow this format (Section/Module/Cycle/Course/Semester/Date)

6. 'Check Audio/Video Equipment' (if necessary) - This is just a check to see whether Real Presenter is receiving proper Audio from your PC.

--Click 'Finish'.

--Real Presenter will now prepare your slides for broadcast.

--Click 'OK'.

7. Click 'Start' on the Task Bar to begin Recording (Note: You must record entire presentation first and then go back and edit slide by silde)

 

 

--The Task Bar can be minimized if you would like.

 

--Move to next slide by hitting 'Page Dn' on the Keyboard or by clicking on the arrow and selecting 'Next'

 

 

 

8. Click 'Stop' when you are finished recroding audio for the PPT presentation.

--Then select 'Save This Recording' and hit 'OK'.

 

 

 

 

-- If you click 'Stop' while you are recording, you can click "Resume recording", then you may continue to record.

9. If you are satisfied click 'Play your Recorded Presentation'

--If you need to edit a particular slide click 'Change the Narration for Selected Slides'

10. When you click 'Change the Narration for Selected Slides' a new window will open.

--Select the Slide you wish to edit.

--Click 'Re-Record'

--Re-Record the Audio and click 'Stop' when you are finished

--If you are pleased with the Re-Recording select 'Yes' and Real Presenter will save your audio for that selected slide.

--If you would like to try again select 'No'

--To Re-Record additional slides repeat the process.

--When you are finished Re-recording all neceesary slides click 'Done'

11. Exit Real Presenter

 

 

12. RE-Enter Real Presenter and select 'Manage your Presentations'

--Select your presentation

--Click 'Edit Presentation Information' if you need to change Author, Copyright, Email, or Title.

13. Upload entire folder to Stream Server

--Create pointer (.ram) file in Notepad

Ex: s1m2c2hre450su02.ram

rtsp://stream.outreach.uiuc.edu/hre/hre450/s1m2c2hre450su02/trainer.smi

--Upload the ram file to the publishing system
